Your username and general area are visible within the community. You can also choose to add optional information such as your email address, telephone number or amateur radio call sign.
Some members may choose to hide their details. Nobody is required to make optional contact information available simply because they have joined.

If Emergency Mode becomes active, a dedicated emergency member directory allows verified members to find people by region and county and view only the information those members have specifically chosen to share.
This means joining the community does not automatically make your private contact details visible.
You remain in control.
Emergency Mode can be activated by the community administrator. Verified members can also indicate that they believe it is required, allowing the community to respond collectively if a serious situation develops.
The feature is intended for genuine emergencies, not rumours, headlines or temporary inconvenience.
Hopefully it is something we never need. But if we ever do, having an established network of prepared people already connected across the UK could make a significant difference.
Preparedness Without the Fear and Doom Mongering
